Mission Statement of the Organisation:	The Kakamega Forest Heritage Foundation is a charitable organization founded and registered in 2015 under The Companies Act (Chapter 486 of the Laws of Kenya). The primary objective of the Foundation is to compliment the efforts of the Kenya Government, of restoring and conserving the Kakamega Rain Forest, the only Guinea Congolian type rain forest remaining in Kenya .The vision of the Foundation is to restore and conserve the Kakamega Forest as well as to promote sustainable development among Forest ecosystem communities. As a road map to achieving its objectives, the Foundation has set up two core intervention funds: The Conservation Fund to promote forest restoration and conservation, research and development, forest scouts initiatives and forest Agriculture: The Empowerment Fund to promote education, community empowerment ,healthy lifestyles –through sports, medical camps and healthy diets, tourism and community policing projects to protect the forest.
